SUMMARY OF TODAY’S TRADING (29/08/2010)

This was a bad week for our markets following the worst Global cues on Friday. We were to see some recovery during the F&O expiry day but in the last day of transaction had a bad hit by the European Markets forcing our markets to close in the Red and at the same time all the European Markets have recovered and got closed well ahead in the green than us. That makes our hopes alive in the forthcoming week as our markets are already looking strong to go past the global markets.

Overall market history for this week is as follows:

Sensex was down by 2.30% and Nifty was also down by 2.50%, CNX MIDCAP INDEX was down by 2.50% and BSE SMALLCAP INDEX was down by 2.60%. Every Sector has registered its lowest rate of percentage in this week.

More importantly, NIFTY was able to close above the 5400 mark but SENSEX had failed to close above 18000 mark. It is really a worrying factor. But we can expect our market back on track to rock again on Monday (30/08/2010) as the EUROPE and US MARKETS have closed in the green with a high note.

SENSEX closed at 17998 down by 227 points and NIFTY closed at 5409 down by 69 points from its previous close. CNX MIDCAP INDEX was down by 0.80% and BSE SMALLCAP INDEX was down by 1.30%. The Market breadth was negative with the advances of 305 against the declines of 990 on the NATIONAL STOCK EXCHANGE.

Today’s top NIFTY gainers are GAIL, ONGC and TATA STEEL LTD and losers are DLF, Axis Bank and Hero Honda Ltd.

Today’s top SENSEX gainers are ISPAT INDSUTRIES LTD, CUMMINS INDIA LTD and ONGC and losers are Lupin Ltd, Jai Corp Ltd and Hindustan Copper Ltd.

SUMMARY OF TODAY’S TRADING (17/08/2010)

This day has witnessed a flat closing in the green first and finally in the red. This has happened due to huge profit booking in the last session of the trading hours. Sell off took place in the METAL SECTORS, IT, REALTY and ofcourse in the FINANCE SECTORS.

In the meantime, European Markets have opened nicely and traded firmly and without any doubt extended its support to our markets but ours has failed to take the momentum going up.

It is also very important to note that SENSEX has settled above 18000 mark as well as NIFTY above 5450 level.

SENSEX closed at 18048 down by 2 points and NIFTY closed at 5414 down by 4 points from its previous close. CNX MIDCAP INDEX was up by 0.39% and BSE SMALLCAP INDEX down 0.29%. The Market breadth was almost negative with advances of 619 against the declines of 659 on the NATIONAL STOCK EXCHANGE.

Today’s top NIFTY gainers are BPCL, HINDALCO AND RANBAXY and losers are Suzlan Energy Ltd., Idea Cellular Ltd and HUL.

Today’s top SENSEX gainers are Syndicate Bank, India Infoline and Bank of Baroda and losers are Hind Construction Co., Mphasis Ltd & Educomp Solutions Ltd.,

SUMMARY OF TODAY’S TRADING (16/08/2010)

Today our market has opened fine and traded within a particular range which has given a confidence that it can go higher at that point of time especially till the opening of European Markets, but ended up with a dejection in the first day of this week..

Though, European markets have opened in the green, last part of the second session of our market has created a room and started falling down and after that all the other sessions have ensured a strong selling pressure to bring the points of NIFTY and SENSEX down. This selling pressure took place in the REALTY SECTORS, TELECOMMUNICATION SECTORS, METAL SECTORS, IT SECOTORS, ENERGY SECTORS and finally in the CAPITAL GOODS.

It is also very important to note that SENSEX has settled above 18000 mark as well as NIFTY above 5450 level.

SENSEX closed at 18050 down by 116 points and NIFTY closed at 5418 down by 33 point from its previous close. CNX MIDCAP INDEX was up by 0.10% and BSE SMALLCAP INDEX down 0.30%. The Market breadth was almost negative with advances of 466 against the declines of 814 on the NATIONAL STOCK EXCHANGE.

Today’s top NIFTY gainers are POWER GRID CORPORATION, PNB AND SIEMENS and losers are Suzlan Energy Ltd., Cairn India Ltd and Cipla Ltd.,
