SUMMARY OF TODAY’S TRADING (18/10/2010)
Today was a remarkable day in our market as there was a gap down opening and traded very well in the red until 3.00pm and all of sudden, it has gained the momentum to go past the yesterday’s closing especially to rest in the green. All these things have happened when experts feel that there will be a huge downfall. From today onwards, there was a time change in the trading hours and pattern.
SENSEX closed at 20168 up by 43 points and NIFTY closed at 6075 up by 13 points from its previous close. CNX MIDCAP INDEX was down 0.19% and BSE SMALLCAP INDEX was down by 0.20%. The Market breadth was negative with the advances of 456 points against the declines of 831 points on the NATIONAL STOCK EXCHANGE.
Today’s top NSE gainers are HCL TECHNOLOGIES, TCS LTD and SUZLON ENERGY LTD and losers are ACC, Tata Power Ltd and Maruti Suzuki Ltd.
Today’s top BSE gainers are PETRONET LNG, NAGARJUNA CONSTRUCTIONS LTD, and INDIABULLS REAL ESTATE LTD and losers are Rashtrya Chemicals Ltd, Godrej Properties Ltd and Apollo Tyres Ltd.
