SUMMARY OF TODAY’S TRADING (19/10/2010)
After a decent gap up opening it slipped into red and little later it has again gained the momentum and come back to the green. But there was purely a range bound trading almost throughout the day . On the contrary to yesterday’s last session’s recovery, today it went badly down and closed in the red nearly losing all of its gains. The most affected sector was IT, Metal, Realty and Power Sectors. Nevertheless, there was some support extended by the Auto Sectors and Bank. But it was not enough to retain its green colour.
Tomorrow IT, Realty, Healthcare and Power Sectors may resume its old position despite markets either side move. Moreover, we may expect for range bound sessions in the most of the trading hours tomorrow.
SENSEX closed at 19983 down by 185 points and NIFTY closed at 6027 down by 48 points from its previous close. CNX MIDCAP INDEX was down by 0.03% and BSE SMALLCAP INDEX was down by 0.10%. The Market breadth was negative with the advances of 610 points against the declines of 680 points on the NATIONAL STOCK EXCHANGE.
Today’s top NSE gainers are ICICI BANK, AMBUJA CEMENT and HERO HONDA LTD and losers are Infosys Ltd, SBI and RIL.
Today’s top BSE gainers are BIOCON, PIPVAV SHIPYARD and JAIN IRRIGATION and losers are Petronet LNG, Sesa Goa Ltd and Alstom Projects.
